Windows
Aluminium windows and external sliding, stacker and pocket doors, double glazed, from factories that can show Australian AS 2047 evidence. Not every block suits imported windows; we say so.

What is in the range
- Awning, casement, sliding, fixed and louvre windows
- Sliding, stacker and pocket doors
- Double glazing, low-E, toughened and laminated glass
- Flyscreens, reveals and hardware
What it costs landed
On the house we fitted out, the windows were $23,946 at the factory gate, including reveals, stainless flyscreens and packaging, and $26,246 delivered to Brisbane port. The factory quoted U-values of 3.42 to 4.93 and SHGC of 0.43 to 0.64, and held AS 2047 certification.
Elje estimate, October 2026. Not yet from a delivered job; replaced with real landed numbers as jobs land.
Landed means AUD inc GST at your door: factory price, freight, marine insurance, duty, port and DAFF charges, brokerage, inspection and cartage. Freight moves weekly, so every estimate is re-priced on the day.
| Item | Factory gate | Landed estimate |
|---|---|---|
| 57 windows and external doors, about 100 m2 | $23,946 (real quote) | $31,000 to $36,000 |
| Per m2 of window | About $240 | About $310 to $360 |
How it ships
Glass ships in steel-framed packaging and often in its own container, decoupled from the joinery. Production is 35 to 45 working days after shop-drawing sign-off, then shipping.
What to check before you order
- AS 2047: a test report from an accredited testing laboratory, or a current certificate from a JAS-ANZ accredited certification body, for the exact system and size. Glass certificates alone are not enough.
- Size within 10 percent each way and 15 percent in area of the tested window.
- Compliance labels on every non-timber window and door for a house, readable after installation.
- Your wind classification. Cyclonic C ratings are case by case, and often a no.
- Whole-window U-value and SHGC to the same standard your energy assessor used for 7 stars.
- Your BAL. At BAL-40 frames must be metal; at BAL-FZ only tested systems. Below that, the exact product needs test evidence.
- In Queensland, importer, supplier, builder and installer all carry the duty that the product conforms.

Questions
Are imported windows legal?
Yes, with the right evidence. Without it they are non-conforming building products, and in Queensland everyone in the chain carries that risk.
When should I not import windows?
When your block is BAL-40 or BAL-FZ and no tested system fits, when you are in a cyclonic region without the testing, or when your energy rating depends on a window the factory cannot document. Buy local then. We say so on the estimate.
